OPERATION
Insert/replace the battery
Remove the battery cover. Insert the battery observing correct
polarity. Put the battery cover back till it stops going click.

Do not lift the device from the surface and start to move it. The
closer the device to the object detected the more segments
of the arrow indicating the detected object approximation
degree start appearing on the display.
As soon as all segments of the arrow appear on the display,
LED light is switched on and the device emits continuous sound
signal – the edge of the hidden structure is detected. Mark
this point. Continue to move the device along the examined
surface until the number of arrow segments on the display
is reduced. Move the device in the opposite direction to find
another edge of the hidden structure. Mark the second point.
The center of hidden structure is located at equal distance
between the two points.

Short press to switch on/off the device.
As soon as the device is switched on it will automatically enter
mode of detection of hidden structures at a depth up to 20
mm.
In order to save the battery power the device will switch off
automatically within 1 minute after the last operation.

Attention!
1) For more accurate detection of hidden structure location,
move the device back and forth along scanned surface, and
limit the scanned area.
2) Any hidden metal objects located close to live wires, can
affect the accuracy of its positioning.
3) Accuracy of metal detection depends on the shape, size and
depth of metal location. If the object is a 18 mm steel bar and
it is located parallel to the device detection depth is maximal.
4) Wires at a depth more than 51 mm from the surface in a
plastic cable channel under plywood covering may be not
found. Wires under metal coating or inside metal cable
channel is not detected by the device. Be extremely careful
when working in such conditions - in the presence of live wires.
Always disconnect the current when working near electrical
wires.

WARRANTY
All CONDTROL GmbH products go through post-production
control and are governed by the following warranty terms. The
buyer’s right to claim about defects and general provisions of
the current legislation do not expire.
1) CONDTROL GmbH agrees to eliminate all defects in the
product, discovered while warranty period, that represent the
defect in material or workmanship in full volume and at its own
expense.
2) The warranty period is 24 months and starts from the date
of purchase by the end customer (see the original supporting
document).
3) The warranty doesn’t cover defects resulting from wear
and tear or improper use, malfunction of the product caused
by failure to observe the instructions of this user manual,
untimely maintenance and service and insufficient care, the
use of non-original accessories and spare parts. Modifications
in design of the product relieve the seller from responsibility
for warranty works. The warranty does not cover cosmetic
damage, that doesn’t hinder normal operation of the product.
4) CONDTROL GmbH reserves the right to decide on
replacement or repair of the device.
5) Other claims not mentioned above, are not covered by the
warranty.
6) After holding warranty works by CONDTROL GmbH
warranty period is not renewed or extended.
7) CONDTROL GmbH is not liable for loss of profit or
inconvenience associated with a defect of the device, rental
cost of alternative equipment for the period of repair.
This warranty applies to German law except provision of the
United Nations Convention on contracts for the international
sale of goods (CISG).
In warranty case please return the product to retail seller or
send it with description of defect to the following address:

Recommendations for use
Certain ambient conditions can influence the measurement
results. This can be, for example, the proximity of other
equipment that generates strong magnetic or electromagnetic
fields, metallic building materials, moisture, foil insulation
materials or conductive wallpaper. Therefore, please also
observe other information sources (for example: construction
plans) before drilling, sawing or routing into walls, ceilings or
floors.

Before use
To achieve optimal result it is required to follow these
recommendations:
- Before switching on the device, make sure that there is no
moisture and dust on the sensor surface. If necessary, wipe
the device with a dry, clean cloth.
- If the device has been subjected to rapid change of ambient
temperature, wait until the temperature of the device is
leveled to ambient temperature, then switch it on.
- Keep the device parallel to intended hidden structures, do
not tilt it, do not shake it, do not press too hard when moving
it along the surface.
- When calibrating and scanning, keep your free hand and
other objects at least 15 cm away from the device, do not
touch the surface being examined.
- The device can detect live wires and pipes as metal or
wooden parts depending on how close they are located to
the surface of the wall. It is necessary to take this into account
when nailing, drilling walls, floors, ceilings.
- Remember that when examining gypsum plasterboard walls
hidden structures are mainly located at a distance of 400 or
600 mm.
- The actual boundaries of the hidden structures may differ
from those identified by the device.

Calibration
The device must be calibrated:
1) Before start scanning.
2) While scanning every 60 seconds in order to minimize the
error.
Put the device onto the surface to be scanned. Press and hold
calibration button.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Attention! This device is a precision instrument and
requires careful handling. Maintenance of the following
recommendations will extend the life of the device:
- Protect the device from bumps, falling and intense vibration;
do not allow moisture, dust and foreign objects get inside the
device.
- If liquids get inside the device, first remove the batteries,
then contact a service center.
- Do not store and use the device in increased humidity
conditions.
- Do not store the product in rooms where temperature is
below -10°С. After storage in low temperature conditions
and subsequent transfer to a warm room, the device heats
up, causing moisture condense inside the device and damage
microcircuits.
- Do not expose the device to direct sunlight and protect it
from prolonged exposure to sunlight and high temperature.
- Clean the device with a soft cloth slightly made damp with a
mild soap solution. Do not use cleaning solvents or abrasives.
Failure to observe the following rules may lead to electrolyte
leakage from the batteries and damage the device:
- Remove the batteries from the device if you don’t use it for
a long time.
- Do not leave discharged batteries in the device.

The user manual should be read carefully before you use the
product for the first time. If the product is given to someone
for temporary use, be sure to enclose user manual to it.
- Do not misuse the product
- Store the product beyond reach of children and unauthorized
people.
- It is prohibited to disassemble or repair the product yourself.
Entrust product repair to qualified personnel and use original
spare parts only.
- Do not use the product in explosive environment, close to
flammable materials.
- Avoid heating the batteries to avoid the risk of explosion and
electrolyte leakage. In case of liquid contact with skin, wash
it immediately with soap and water. In case of contact with
eyes, flush with clean water during 10 minutes and consult the
doctor.

FUNCTIONS/APPLICATIONS
Wall scanner Wall CONDTROL is designed to search for
constructions hidden under the drywall and wooden surfaces
such as water pipes (plastic, metal, copper, steel), risers, steel
and wooden side framings as well as live cables. The device
has 4 modes reflected on the LCD with backlight.
Wall CONDTROL identifies the edges of the hidden structures,
while providing sound signal and corresponding indication
on the screen. For the convenience of marking on the walls
when finding a hidden construction, the device generates a
light beam indicating the exact location. Thus it is possible
to «scan» the walls and visualize all the hidden engineering
communications and building structures.
