Indicating the remaining battery
capacity

cartridge firmly may cause them to slip off your hands

Tool / battery protection system

The tool is equipped with a tool/battery protection sys-
tem. This system automatically cuts off power to the
motor to extend tool and battery life. The tool will auto-
matically stop during operation if the tool or battery is
placed under one of the following conditions:

NOTE: Depending on the conditions of use and the
ambient temperature, the indication may differ slightly
from the actual capacity.

Overload protection

NOTE: The first (far left) indicator lamp will blink when
the battery protection system works.

Adjusting depth of cut

When the tool/battery is operated in a manner that
causes it to draw an abnormally high current, the tool
automatically stops. In this situation, turn the tool off
and stop the application that caused the tool to become
overloaded. Then turn the tool on to restart.

CAUTION: Always switch off and wait for the
blades to come to a complete stop before adjust-
ing depth of cut.

Overheat protection

NOTE: When turning the depth adjustment knob, be
sure to hold the handle firmly with the other hand.

When the tool/battery is overheated, the tool stops
automatically. In this situation, let the tool/battery cool
before turning the tool on again.

Overdischarge protection

When the battery capacity is not enough, the tool stops
automatically. In this case, remove the battery from the
tool and charge the battery.

The cutting depth can be adjusted by turning the depth
adjustment knob on the front of the tool. Turn the knob
to align the pointer with your desired cutting depth on
the depth scale.
