aged, it must be immediately replaced. You can
either do it on your own, or contact the CROWN
service center.

•• The gear lubrications require a short time to get
warm. Depending on the ambient temperature this
period of time can alter within the range of approxi­
mately 15 s (at ambient temperature of 32°С) up to 2
minutes (at ambient temperature of 0°С).

•• Move fixing bush 3 back and hold it in that position
(see fig. 5).

Switching the power tool on / off

•• Pull dust protection casing 2, and remove it.
•• Install a new dust protection casing 2.
•• Release fixing bush 3.

Short-term switching on / off

Adapter for chuck SDS PLUS

To switch on, press and hold on / off switch 10, to
switch off - release it.

•• SDS PLUS adapter 15 and screw 16 enable using
gear rim chuck 14.

Long-term switching on / off

•• Never use SDS PLUS adapter 15 in the impact
drilling or chiselling operation modes.

•• Drills that don't belong to the SDS PLUS system are
not allowed for the impact drilling.

Mounting / dismounting of the gear rim chuck (see
fig. 6-7)

Switching on:
Push on / off switch 10 and lock it in the position with
lock-on button 11.
Switching off:
Push and release on / off switch 10.

Design features of the power tool

•• Screw the gear rim chuck 14 onto the SDS PLUS
adapter 15 and lock it in with the screw 16 (see
fig. 6).

Function switch (see fig. 9-11)

•• Install the SDS PLUS adapter 15 into the
chuck 1 (SDS PLUS), repeating the same steps as
when mounting the borer (chisel) see fig. 7.

•• When dismantling, repeat the steps described
above in the reverse order.

Switching the operation modes shall be
carried out only in the off mode of the
tool's motor.

Attention: keep in mind that in the pro­
cess of mounting / dismounting of the
gear rim chuck 14 the screw 16 has a left-
hand thread.

Function switch 7 is fitted with lock but­
ton 17 that is used to fix the function
switch 7 in a set position. Rotate func­
tion switch 7 while pressing button 17
in order to set a desired operating mode.

Mounting / replacement of accessories

Function switch 7 is designed for the switching the
following operation modes of the tool:

With long-term use the drill bit may be­
come very warm; use gloves to remove it.

Gear rim chuck (see fig. 8)

Drilling (set the function switch 7 in the position
indicated in figure 9.1 and 10.1) - non-impact drilling in
wood, synthetics, metal.

•• Release the cams grip with drill chuck key 12, then ro­
tate the quill of gear rim chuck 13 counter-clockwise with
your hand (see fig. 8) until the cams move apart at the
distance allowing an accessory to be mounted / replaced.

Impact drilling (set the function switch 7 in the position
indicated in figure 9.2 and 10.2) - impact drilling in
masonry, concrete, natural stone.

•• Mount / replace an accessory.
•• Rotate the quill of gear rim chuck 13 clockwise with
your hand in order to lock the accessory mounted. Do
not allow the accessory to become distorted.

Drilling (set the function switch 7 in the position
indicated in figure 11.1) - non-impact drilling in wood,
synthetics, metal.

•• Tighten the cams of gear rim chuck 13 with clamp­
ing wrench 12 applying a similar torque to each of the
three openings on the side surface of the chuck.

Initial operating of the power tools

Impact drilling (set the function switch 7 in the position
indicated in figure 11.2) - impact drilling in masonry,
concrete, natural stone.

•• Always use the correct supply voltage the power
supply voltage must match the information quoted on
the power tool identification plate.

Chisel rotation (set switch 7 in the position shown
on figure 11.3) - this mode does not allow operating
your power tool, but allows setting the chisel in a
comfortable position for chiseling works.

•• The power tool is supplied properly lubricated and
ready for use.

•• A new power tool needs some time for its parts to
run in before a full load operation. The run-in period
duration is about 5 hours of operation.

Chiselling (set the function switch 7 in the position
indicated in figure 11.4) - chiselling ducts in masonry,
concrete, stone, removing ceramic tiles.
