Follow the steps below to correctly install an M.2 SSD in the M.2 connector.
•• M2A_CPU:
Step 1:
Locate the M.2 connector where you will install the M.2 SSD, use a screwdriver to unfasten
the screw on the heatsink and then remove the heatsink.
If you want to install an M.2 SSD in the 110mm hole that already has a motherboard heatsink
standoff, be sure to remove the EZ-Latch Plus clip first and use the motherboard heatsink screw
to secure the heatsink and SSD.
Step 2:
Locate the proper mounting hole for the M.2 SSD to be installed. Insert the M.2 SSD into the
M.2 connector at an angle. Press down on the front end of the M.2 SSD and make sure the
M.2 SSD is secured by the clip.
Step 3:
Remove the protective film from the thermal pad at bottom of the heatsink. Then replace the
heatsink and secure it and the M.2 SSD to the original hole with the screw.
•• M2B_CPU:
Step 1:
Locate the proper mounting hole based on the length of your M.2 SSD drive. If needed, move
the standoff to the desired mounting hole.
Step 2:
Insert the M.2 SSD into the M.2 connector at an angle. Press down on the front end of the
M.2 SSD and use the provided M.2 screw to fasten the SSD.
* Types of M.2 SSDs supported by each M.2 connector:
