SETTING PRINTING PARAMETERS
DEFINITIONS
There are two parts to programming the EVOLUTION LX ink jet printer,
• Configuring the operations parameters, (character width, delay, etc.) and
• Creating the message.
MODES OF OPERATION
The system operates in 3 basic modes. They are: PRINTING, STOPPED, and
MESSAGE ENTRY Mode.
In PRINTING Mode the majority of the keys on the keypad are disabled to avoid
inadvertent changes. When in PRINTING Mode the Top line of the LCD will
display PRINTING.
The STOPPED Mode is used to change the functions of the printer. When in the
STOPPED Mode the display will show STOPPED on the top line.
The Message Entry Mode is used to create or modify printable codes, when in
this mode the top line of the display will show MESSAGE ENTRY.
PRINTING AND STOPPED MODE
When in the PRINTING Mode the screen will look
like the screen on the left. When PRINTING is
seen on the LCD, the unit will print as product
passes in front of the printer. To enter PRINTING
Mode, press

When in the STOPPED Mode the screen looks
like the illustration at left. When STOPPED the
printer will not print when product is moved past
the printer.
In STOPPED Mode, access can be made to the
menus under the function keys, F1 through F4
icon control keys plus access to Message Entry
