The example below shows a 2-line message. The top line of the message is the
balance of the price .95 and the second line of the
message are the words BEST BY followed by the

expiration date

key. Remember that variable
field data must be entered using the appropriate
special function key.
NOTE: That the beginning of the message is not
shown because as data is entered on the second line
the actual message caused the message area to
scroll left out of view.
Press the F1 key to redisplay the message from the
beginning.
The prefix data may now be entered into the
message. DO NOT EXIT MESSAGE ENTRY MODE.
Press the message storage key

MESSAGE ENTRY - - - - FONT- 2 LINE

. While in the
MESSAGE ENTRY mode. The message storage key
has a different function in this mode and does not
save the message to storage, but rather enters the
prefix message previously created.
The prefix message is entered but because the
message was longer than the display area the display
scrolled to the left.
Press the F1 key to display the message from the
beginning.
The prefix message is now displayed at the beginning

of the message shown as the

.95 BEST BY

symbol.

Press the enter key

LX x STOPPED HD1- - >SPEED=100

to return to the STOPPED
mode.
The message is ready for printing.
Press the print key

LX x PRINTING HD1- - >SPEED=100

.95 BEST BY

to place the printer in the
PRINTING mode.
The message may be stored by selecting the
message storage option.
NOTE: changing a prefix after a message
is created will automatically update the
current message with the new prefix.
