Desktop Mode
Once you've set up screen projection on your phone, simply open the projection capsule at
the top of your phone screen, tap
> Projection mode, and select Desktop mode to
take advantage of a larger display for improved work efficiency.
In Desktop mode, your phone and the larger display work independently, ensuring they
don't interrupt each other. The home screen of your phone will automatically switch to a
desktop view on the larger screen, making multitasking a breeze.
For instance, you can keep chatting with your friends on your phone while editing
documents on the larger display. During screen projection, notifications, incoming calls,
and chat messages will be neatly organized into your notification panel, marked with a red
dot, without appearing on the larger display.
To use the screen sharing feature, the larger display needs to support either the Miracast or
cast+ protocol. If you're looking to find out what protocols the larger display supports, how to
start wireless projection, and other information, please consult the user manual of the larger
display or contact its manufacturer.
Virtual Touchpad
When your phone is connected to a larger display in Desktop mode and you're without a
physical mouse or keyboard, you can take advantage of your phone's virtual touchpad. This
handy feature allows you to mimic mouse clicks and keyboard typing, making your
interactions easier and more efficient.
Tap the
> Touchpad in the capsule. You can:
• Mimic mouse movements and clicks using the following gestures.
• If you need to type but the larger screen doesn't have a keyboard connected, just click
the text box on the larger display. A virtual keyboard will pop up on your phone.
If the larger screen is connected to a keyboard, you won't see a virtual keyboard on your
phone. You'll need to use the physical keyboard instead.
Use Screen Projection to Make Work Easier
In Desktop mode, you can use the following features:
• Multi-window display: Open multiple windows at a time to multitask.
• File management: Save files to the desktop, create files or folders, and rename or delete
files.
• Quick search: Search for documents, multimedia files, and apps using the start menu
search box.
• Quick app projection: Touch and hold an app icon on your phone to view the projection
options. You can then project and open the app on the large display.
